In what will be a first bowl game, the American rapper will serve as the lead sponsor in Saturday’s Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl at 2:30 PM MT between Colorado State and Miami (OH) at Arizona Stadium in Tuscon, Arizona.

The Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl is the latest major sporting event that the American treasure, rapper and celebrity has been a part of as a correspondent for NBC and the Peacock at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Saturday’s meeting between Colorado State and Miami (OH) is the third-ever meeting between the two programs and the first since 2010, when the Redhawks defeated Aries 31-10. It’s also the first bowl game appearance for Colorado State since 2017. The Rams will not only be looking for their ninth win of the season — which would be their most since 2014 — but also their first bowl win since 2013.

Why does Snoop Dogg have his own college football bowl game?

Like other college football bowl games, Snoop Dogg signed a partnership agreement with the Arizona Bowl to be the bowl game’s title and presenting sponsor.

The rapper announced multi-year sponsorship agreement partnership between the Arizona Bowl and himself on Monday, May 6 on X (formerly Twitter). Snoop Dogg’s sponsorship enables his alcoholic drink with Dr. Dre – Gin & Juice by Dre and Snoop – to be the presenting sponsor of the bowl game.

Before Snoop Dogg teamed up with the Arizona Bowl, the bowl itself was sponsored by Barstool Sports. The Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl, as it is called, is the first alcohol product to serve as the presenting sponsor of an NCAA-sanctioned bowl game.

“College football fans are tired of the talk of the NIL, conference realignment, coaching movement, transfer portal and super conferences. So it’s time we return to the roots of college football, when it was focused on the colleges, the players, competition, the community, the fan experience and the festivities,” Snoop Dogg said in a video on X (formerly Twitter) on May 6.

“Being a fan, coach, supporter of every level of the game… It’s only fitting that I step up and help this thing right. I’m ready to bring the juice back to college football.”

As noted in an Arizona Bowl press release, as part of the partnership agreement, Snoop Dogg will also “promote the new line of premium Gin & Juice By Dre and Snoop flavors” at Saturday’s game.

Gin & Juice by Dre and Snoop launched in February this year, with the company name and first ready-to-drink product tribute to a Snoop Dogg hit from the album “Doggystyle”, which was produced by Dr. Dre and Death Row Records.

“We are thrilled about our groundbreaking partnership with Snoop and Gin & Juice By Dre and Snoop,” said Arizona Bowl CEO Kym Adair in a statement.

“This year, the Arizona Bowl brings sports, libations and entertainment into a one-of-a-kind bowl game, and we’re redefining what a brand partnership is in the NCAA.”
