Week 17 Saturday thread: 3 games with playoff implications

Saturday NFL is a thing after Christmas and we have three games on the slate today. Every game has playoff implications, starting with Los Angeles Chargers traveling east to take on New England Patriots.

Jim Harbaugh can wins a playoff spot today with a win. Los Angeles could also clinch a postseason berth if Miami Dolphins and that Indianapolis Colts lose/tie. But Drake Maye hasn’t had it easy, and he looks like a star in the making. The Patriots may not have enough ammunition today, but they are a team that will contend sooner rather than later.

Today’s second game features Sean Payton’s Denver Broncos away against Joe Burrow and Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals can’t win the AFC North, but are still in contention for a Wild Card spot, most likely as the No. 5 seed. The AFC has five teams fighting for two spots, and the Bengals are in the worst position. Cincy must win the next two games to have a shot at the playoffs.

The good news is that they control their own destiny and keep the dream alive for another week. Cincinnati cannot be mathematically eliminated from the playoffs with a win on Saturday, as Denver is the team they have to lose the most.

Finally, we have Arizona Cardinals as a touchdown underdog mod Los Angeles Rams. San Francisco 49ers fans will be rooting for the Cardinals for seeding purposes.
