Dayle Haddon, model and actress, dies in suspected carbon monoxide leak

Dayle Haddon, a model and actress in the 70s, 80s and 90s, died Friday in a suspected carbon monoxide leak at a home in Pennsylvania, authorities said CBS News. She was 76.

Solebury Township Police Department said it responded to a home in Bucks County just after 1 p.m. 9 Friday after receiving a call about a man “lying down passed out on the first floor of a detached office/in-law suite.” The 76-year-old man, whose identity has not yet been released, was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Authorities then found a 76-year-old woman, later identified as Haddon, dead in a second-floor bedroom. While investigating the scene, firefighters discovered a high level of carbon monoxide in the property.

“Preliminary investigation indicates that a heating unit failed and exposed a large amount of carbon monoxide in the carriage house,” said Detective Sgt. Jonathan Koretzky narrated CBS News.

Two doctors were also taken to a local hospital for carbon monoxide exposure, and a police officer was treated at the scene, according to police. Officials said all three are stable.

Born on May 26, 1948 in Toronto, Canada, Haddon rose to fame as a supermodel before moving to Hollywood where she decided to also pursue acting. She got her first role in the Disney movie The world’s greatest athlete in 1973.

She went on to have just over 25 acting credits, including the 1975s The cheatersThe 1977s Madame ClaudeThe 1979s North Dallas FortyThe 1986s Desert huntingThe 1989s CyborgThe 1992s Inappropriate age and the 1994s Bullets over Broadway.

Haddon was also an ambassador for the humanitarian aid organization, UNICEF, and founder WomenOnea non-profit with a focus on creating educational opportunities for girls and women.
