Hot last weekend of 2024 for the Phoenix area

PHOENIX (AZ Family) — Friday brings another round of high clouds to Arizona with continued dry weather. The cloud cover should be a bit thinner than yesterday, so temperatures may get a little higher to around 70 degrees in the valley.

Winds will be light in the valley, but look for gusty west and southwest winds in the high country today, between 10 and 20 miles per hour, with gusts to 30 miles per hour.

A dry weekend lies ahead for Arizona, with temperatures warming to 5 to 15 degrees above normal for this time of year in most places. In the Valley, that means highs in the low 70s on Saturday and mid-70s on Sunday.

A ridge of high pressure next week will keep temperatures mild and above average, with highs in the mid-70s on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. No rain or snow is expected next week.
