Scoot Henderson hit a game-winning step-back jumper with a tenth of a second left to lift the Portland Trail Blazers to a 122-120 victory over the visiting Utah Jazz on Thursday night.

Henderson’s clutch shot helped Portland win for just the second time in 10 games. The Trail Blazers overcame a 15-point deficit in the second half.

Jazz forward Lauri Markkanen had tied the game by scoring five straight points in the final 40.2 seconds.

Deni Avdija scored 14 of his 27 points in the fourth quarter, Shaedon Sharpe scored 12 of his 27 in the final period and Deandre Ayton finished with 18 points and 12 rebounds in the Trail Blazers’ comeback win.

Henderson totaled 18 points and 10 assists as the Blazers avenged a 141-99 loss to the visiting Jazz three weeks ago.

Markkanen finished with a team-high 25 points for the Jazz, who ended their road trip with a 2-3 mark.

Collin Sexton added 19 points and 11 assists, Svi Mykhailiuk contributed 18 points on six 3-pointers, Drew Eubanks scored 15 and Johnny Juzang had 14 in the loss.

Avdija had a great stretch late in the game to put Portland up 118-112. He blocked a Jazz shot, grabbed two rebounds and scored two baskets before hitting three free throws in a personal 7-0 run.

Sharpe gave the Blazers a 120-115 lead by making a layup with 51 seconds left, but Markkanen tied it after hitting two free throws with 40.2 seconds left and a 3-pointer with 14.1 seconds left.

The Jazz — more specifically Sexton and Sci Mykhailiuk — came out in the second half after Portland surged late in the second quarter to take a 55-54 halftime lead.

Sexton ignited a 16-0 run with a 3-pointer. He had seven points in the surge, with Mykhailiuk scoring the other nine on three treys in an 82-second stretch, and Utah went up 70-55.

Jerami Grant finally ended the Blazers’ drought with three free throws nearly four minutes into the third quarter.

Juzang put Utah up 94-84 early in the final stanza at the free throw line.

Momentum quickly shifted as the Blazers put up three consecutive 3-pointers from Anfernee Simons, Grant and Sharpe along with a tip-in shot from Donovan Clingan to take a one-point lead after an 11-0 run.
