2 homes damaged in SW Houston from possible brief tornado

HOUSTON – The National Weather Service says it is investigating whether damage to two homes in the Alief area may have been caused by a brief tornado.

The homes are located on Plumbrook Drive, near Kirkwood and Bissonnet.

Photos taken by KPRC 2 show damage to the front of a home.

The home appears to have roof and side damage as well as damage to the garage area.

Neighbors said a mail van was also blown over when the storm came through. The driver was uninjured.

Video captured from a security camera at a nearby home shows the moments the wind picked up. You can see the mail truck coming into view on the right side of the video before it is knocked over by the wind.
