Chappell Roan jokes about ‘Glee’ Christmas episode before immediately apologizing

Chappell Roan has seen Glee for the first time – and she has had a lot of thoughts about one of their Christmas episodes in particular.

The singer posted — on one Instagram account she’s driving with her creative director Ramisha Sattar — a Monday night video with her replayed thoughts on the third Christmas episode “Extraordinary Merry Christmas.” Her thoughts sparked a stir in the comments on the video, which – it should be noted – were equally divided as to whether the episode really was “the worst”.

The Very Silly Best Friends continued, secondment over a photo of popular couple Blaine and Kurt (played by Darren Criss and Chris Colfer) the following: “Guys. We’re tall. Logging (sic) off. Maybe you’re not maybe.”

Almost immediately after that post, the duo shared another video — one of Roan apparently being held at gunpoint (by Sattar) to apologize for her characterization of Glee the episode in question.

“This is my apology video to the Gleeks I offended. I’m so sorry I love every episode of Gleeand I love Kurt and Blaine.”

Then the duo submitted another text overlay over a picture of Kurt and Blaine saying “we got hacked” followed by several eyeroll emojis that were clearly having fun with their followers (who were also definitely laughing and in on the joke along with their parasocial favorites ).

Roan celebrates her first ever Grammy Award nominations alongside Sattar, who has long played a key role in the artist’s aesthetic and creative choices on stage and in her music videos. Having recently won Best New Artist at the MTV Awards, Roan feels like a shoo-in to win the same award (and maybe even more, given her six nominations in total), when the Grammys are announced in a live telecast on February 1, 2025.
