Gordon remains red-hot with a stunning opener against Villa

England international Anthony Gordon is once again enjoying himself at Newcastle this season and has now added a stunning goal to his tally in the process.

The former Everton star needed just two minutes to give the Magpies the lead at St James’ Park against visiting Aston Villa, with Eddie Howe’s men keen to continue their push for Champions League football.

After picking up the ball from Joelinton’s break, Gordon cut in from the left channel before bending a sweetly struck effort past a fully stretched Emi Martínez to set Newcastle up and running early doors.

With that, Gordon scored or assisted in three consecutive Premier League games for the first time in his career, while he stretched his total contributions to four straight games after also adding an assist against Brentford in the Carabao Cup.

Going from strength to strength on Tyneside.
