The 10 best Christmas towns in the US, with a surprise town as the winner

A new study revealed which cities in America are the best places to celebrate Christmas — and the top spot may (or may not) surprise you.

WalletHub released its 2024 list of the most festive and affordable cities in the United States after conducting research across all 50 states in key dimensions: traditions and fun, observance, generosity, shopping and cost.

Chip Lupo, a WalletHub analyst, said in a press release that there are certain cities that are “much better for your wallet” this holiday season.

“In addition to being affordable, the best cities have large numbers of people who celebrate, lots of places for Christians to worship, populations that give generously to charity, and lots of fun activities to enjoy with family and friends,” Lupo said.

That’s right: Wallet-hub found that Atlanta is the best city for Christmas, with plenty of bakeries, holiday decor shops and affordable restaurants.

Atlanta has the ninth-most Christmas tree farms and the most card shops per capita. inhabitant.

“Additionally, Atlanta residents get very excited about Christmas and search Google for terms related to the holiday more often than people in most other cities,” the release said.

The second best city to celebrate, Pittsburgh, has the fifth most churches per per capita, making it easy to find a place to go for Christmas Eve or Christmas services.

Pittsburgh was also among the top cities with a high number of candy and chocolate shops per inhabitant.

For family fun, Pittsburgh has the fifth-most ice rinks per city. inhabitant.

Seattle came in third, ranking among the top 10 cities with the most malls and gift shops.

In keeping with the spirit of giving, Seattle has the fifth most online donations per inhabitant and many food banks.

Wallethub also found that Seattle has a lot of affordable restaurants with 4.5 stars or higher.
