Nuggets’ Aaron Gordon leaves with calf injury vs. Suns

The Denver Nuggets forward left Wednesday’s game against the Phoenix Suns with right calf tightness in the third quarter.

It’s the same calf he strained in early November, which caused him to miss the rest of the month.

Gordon, 29, is averaging 14.1 points and 5.9 rebounds this season.

Gordon signed a four-year, $133 million contract extension just before the start of the season. He was an integral piece as the franchise captured its first NBA championship in 2022-23.

Gordon was originally drafted by Orlando with the fourth overall pick in 2014. He was traded to the Nuggets in March 2021 and has become a fan favorite with his play around the rim and his energizing dunks.
