The weather will improve tomorrow, says HKO

The Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) has predicted a drop in temperatures from Friday, with the lowest temperatures on Saturday and Sunday expected to be around 14 degrees Celsius in urban areas and possibly dropping to 10 degrees in two districts.

HKO explained that this change is due to the northeast monsoon affecting southern China. In addition, a broad band of clouds currently covers the northern part of the South China Sea and Guangdong.

As of noon today, Tropical Depression Pabuk was located approximately 410 kilometers east of Ho Chi Minh City. It is forecast to move west-southwest at a speed of about 14 kilometers per hour over the seas south of Vietnam, where it is expected to weaken and gradually dissipate.

The forecast for this afternoon and tonight calls for mainly cloudy skies with sunshine in the afternoon and one or two light showers this evening. The wind will be moderate and from the northeast.

Tomorrow (December 26) will remain mostly cloudy and mild throughout the day. On Friday (December 27), winds are expected to shift to the north, leading to clearer and drier conditions over the weekend. Morning temperatures are expected to be quite cool with minimum temperatures around 14 degrees Celsius in urban areas.

According to HKO’s 9-day weather forecast, temperatures will start to drop from Friday, when the lowest temperature will reach 16 degrees Celsius. At the weekend, the lowest temperature in urban areas is expected to be 14 degrees Celsius. The “automatic regional weather forecast” indicates that by early Sunday morning (December 29), temperatures in Tai Po and Ta Kwu Ling may drop to 10 degrees Celsius or below.
