Four celebrities who may not be famous after 2024

In a world where fame is fleeting, a single moment can turn a coveted career into a real crash and burn situation. For these high-profile stars, controversies this year can cast a long shadow from which their careers may never recover. While only time will tell, here are five celebrities who might need a new day job in 2025 — or at least a good publicist heading into the new year.

Katy Perry

Perry found herself in hot water after releasing her lead single, “Woman’s World,” this summer. The female-empowerment anthem met with backlash after fans learned that she had collaborated with Dr. Luke, a controversial music producer who contradicted and finally settled with musician Kesha, who had accused him of drug abuse and sexual assault.

Perry eventually commented on the topic and did not address the situation, much to the disappointment of her fans.

Nicole Scherzinger

The former Pussycat Doll frontwoman made headlines earlier this year for her comeback in Broadway’s new production of “Sunset Boulevard.” Although it got her in the news on a good note, her response to a Russell Brand Instagram post in November, after the US presidential election, got her back in the headlines; but on a rather sour note.

In response to Brand’s post with a Trump hat, Scherzinger replied: “Where do I get this hat?” She has since apologized in a statement, calling it a “errorBut with the virality of the original comment still circulating and making a big dent, her future on Broadway remains unclear.

Ellen DeGeneres

The controversial comedian dropped big news this year by not only premiering her latest comedy special on Netflix, but also announcing her departure from the country after Trump’s election victory. Considering her retirement and departure, especially after her career took a big hit allegations of abusive behavior in the workplaceit looks likely that we may not see much of her again.

Nick Jonas

Jonas, a once untouchable media darling, faced backlash from fans after expressing admiration for Elon Musk online. The pop singer had given several nods to the SpaceX founder, writing “Take us to the Year 3000” and tagging one of Musk’s posts, referencing one of his band’s hit songs. Right now, Jonas’ career is stuck in the middle ages, and this latest comment is definite shocked some longtime fans.
