‘Stranger Things’ shows behind-the-scenes photos from last season

Netflix has just delivered an early Christmas present to fans of Stranger Things.

To celebrate the show’s final season — and its official wrap in production — the streamer showed 10 behind-the-scenes photos from the past year on set. The fifth season, consisting of eight new episodes, will be released sometime in 2025.

As previously reported, Stranger Things season 5 will include a time jump to the fall of 1987, more than a year after the events of season 4. When we last saw the beleaguered residents of Hawkins, Ind., Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Will, Hopper ( David Harbour), Joyce (Winona Ryder), Nancy (Natalia Dyer) and Jonathan (Charlie Heaton) watched in horror as portals from the Upside Down popped up in their town and unleashed the nightmares from the Upside Down in their city. Max (Sadie Sink), meanwhile, remained in a coma in the hospital after being killed by Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) and then revived by Eleven.

“The end of this episode, when we read it, just reading it, about halfway through, people started crying,” star David Harbor said of the series finale table read during an interview with Happy Sad Confused podcast in October. “Then for about the last 20 minutes it was just uncontrollable crying, waves of different people.”

In November, Netflix released a teaser revealing the titles of all eight episodes, which include “The Crawl,” “The Turnbow Trap,” “Sorcerer,” “Shock Jock,” “Escape From Camazotz,” “The Bridge,” and “The Right Side up.”
