Good Morning America with Brevard School on Christmas Eve

Students at a Brevard County elementary school got a special surprise when Mickey Mouse showed up with hundreds of holiday gifts.

The special visit, which took place at Endeavor Elementary School earlier this month, was filmed for a segment that will air Christmas Eve on ABC’s “Good Morning America.” Mickey Mouse was joined by VoluntEARS from the Disney Wish cruise as part of 2024 Disney Ultimate Toy Drive. It’s an effort by Mickey and friends to provide toys to schools, hospitals and nonprofits for children in need around the world.

Part of the reason Endeavor was chosen is that Brevard County is home to Port Canaveral, where guests board the Disney Wish, as well as several other Disney ships, including the all-new Disney Treasure. All of Endeavor’s students are considered financially disadvantaged.

Jones, senior manager, corporate social responsibility, Disney Cruise Line. “We are proud to support Brevard County students year-round through a variety of learning programs, grants and more, and this holiday celebration is a highlight of the year for the kids and our VoluntEARS.”

What happened when Mickey surprised Brevard County students?

Endeavor’s students were all surprised with gifts. Each child received a book and a Disney plush toy.

VolunetEARS played games with the children and their families, shared snacks and Mickey posed for pictures. Pictures from the event show students giddy with excitement, some with their hands over their mouths in shock and others hugging Mickey.

A crew was on hand to film the festivities for a special Christmas Eve segment on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
