For the first time in their long careers, Kevin Durant and Russell Wilson met each other on Christmas Day.

The former teammates represented the Phoenix Suns and Denver Nuggets, respectively, in the final game on the Christmas list. As expected, the game was intense and competitive.

The two spent eight seasons with the Oklahoma State Warriors and reached the 2011-12 NBA Finals with the team. They have not been teammates since then, but have clashed as division rivals several times.

In the first half, Durant had 14 points, five assists and three rebounds, shooting 5-of-14. Westbrook came off the bench and had nine points, three rebounds and an assist on 4-of-9 shooting.

Fans took to social media to praise the matchup, expressing excitement at the matchup and praising the two for playing hard against each other.

Phoenix went into halftime with a 58-56 lead over the Nuggets and hopes to improve to 15-14 on the season.

This is the second of four matchups between the two teams, with the next one not coming until February 8th.
