Here’s how to see all of Nate Bargatze’s stand-up specials

Nate Bargatze has been serving up family-friendly jokes for more than two decades.

The Grammy-nominated stand-up comedian, who grew up in Nashville and was raised by Christian parents, is known for his clean, wholesome comedy.

“(Pure comedy) is all we could see (as kids),” Bargatze shared Deseret news in 2023. “I knew I would never get dirty. I’ve always been clean. With my shows, when people come out, it’s all ages. It’s grandmothers to 9-year-olds. … I love that it can appeal to so many people.”

Bargatze spent years performing for small crowds before rising to fame in 2019 with his first Netflix comedy special, Tennessee Kid. Over the course of five years, he continued to film four more specials, launch The Nateland Podcast, and host Saturday Night Live (twice!).

“I want to make (people) laugh so hard they cry or they have to pull the car over,” Bargatze shared CBS News in April 2024.

Now the comedian is gearing up for his Big Dumb Eyes World Tour, which kicks off in April 2025. He will make more than 60 stops in North America, Europe and the Middle East with his father Stephen – a professional clown turned magician – as an opening act.

But fans can also laugh until they cry from the comfort of their couch, thanks to Bargatze’s numerous streaming offerings. Bargatze’s first comedy special, Full time magic, was filmed at the Gramercy Theater in New York City and premiered on May 2, 2015. The one-hour set proves that the comic is not immune to embarrassing situations like “the prospect of fighting with his wife’s ex-boyfriend on a boat or (that be ) almost caught in a fight at a McDonald’s,” according to the official synopsis.

The stand-ups (2017)

Netflix’s The stand-ups — a series showcasing up-and-coming comics — premiered in July 2017, and Bargatze appeared in Season 1, Episode 1. During his 30-minute set, taped at Cicada in Los Angeles, he jokes about entertaining the incarcerated , shop for hammocks and tour a house of exotic reptiles.

Tennessee Kid (2019)

Bargatze’s first hour-long Netflix comedy special, Tennessee Kidwas filmed at the Infinite Energy Center in Duluth, Ga., and debuted on March 26, 2019. For 60 comedic minutes, he pokes fun at the absurdities of everyday life — think flights, cheap weddings, college football and ordering coffee.

The greatest average American (2021)

Netflix released The greatest average American on March 18, 2021. Bargatze filmed the hour-long comedy special outdoors at Universal Studios Hollywood with COVID-19 protocols in place — attendees could be seen wearing masks and sitting at least 6 feet apart.

According to the official synopsis, the comic “reflects being part of the Oregon Trail generation, meeting his wife while working at Applebee’s, and the relatable moments of being a father and a husband.”

Hello world (2023)

Filmed at the Celebrity Theater in Phoenix, Hello world marked Bargatze’s first comedy special exclusively for Amazon Prime Video. Premiering on January 30, 2023, the Nashville native “provides his take on a variety of topics, including the downsides of being the first born, the challenges of playing golf with your wife, and what happens when a bald eagle touches your head,” according to Amazon.

Nashville Christmas (2024)

Nashville Christmaswhich aired on CBS on December 19, was produced by Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels and filmed at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. The variety show features both holiday-themed stand-up and sketch comedy from Bargatze as well as special guests such as Darius Rucker, Carrie Underwood, Noah Kahan and Jelly Roll.

Your friend, Nate Bargatze (2024)

The entertainer’s latest Netflix comedy special, Your friend, Nate Bargatzewas released on December 24. During the stand-up hour, Bargatze “tackles pizza ordering strategies for guys’ night, wants another dog, and trusts his responsible wife,” according to the official synopsis.

Nate Bargatzes Saturday Night Live episodes

Bargatze has hosted Saturday Night Live twice. His appearance in Season 49, Episode 3 on October 28, 2023 includes sketches in which Bargatze portrays George Washington, a chef on a cooking show, and a passenger on an airplane.

Less than a year later, Bargatze hosted Season 50, Episode 2 on October 5, 2024. He reprized his role as George Washington, while other sketches show him portraying a terrible golfer and a high school football coach.
