Former Iowa basketball player Jamie Cavey-Lang dies at age 41

Former Iowa basketball player and radio analyst Jamie Cavey-Lang died Saturday after a battle with cancer.

Cavey-Lang, 41, stepped away from his analytics duties after the 2022-23 season. She had been part of the radio team since the beginning of 2016-17.

Cavey-Lang played at Iowa from 2001-05 and was part of four postseason teams. She graduated from North Cedar High School.

She finished her Hawkeye career with 1,265 points (27th in program history) and 506 rebounds. Cavey-Lang was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and two-time All-Big Ten selection.

She earned her master’s degree in higher education from Iowa, was a college career counselor and served on the President’s Committee on Athletes for several years.

Cavey-Lang is survived by her husband Mike and children Vincent, Bennett and Sydney.

Visitation will be 4-7pm on Thursday at The Celebration Farm in Iowa City. Funeral Mass will be Friday at 10.30 in St. Mary Catholic Church in Solon.
