Cobra Kai ‘Never Dies’ Final Episode Teaser Highlights A ‘Legacy That Will Live Forever’

The first look at Cobra Kai‘s final episode is here.

In one 30 second trailer for Part 3 of the Netflix hit’s sixth and final season, stars Ralph Macchio and William Zabka promise to deliver the action one last time. As a montage of the cast in various karate poses flashes across the screen, viewers can hear the song: “Cobra Kai!”

“Four decades of history all leading up to this moment,” Macchio begins.

“Ever since we were kids, you’ve been cheering us on, had our backs,” Zabka continues. “What do we have to show for it?”

Macchio claims, “A legacy that will live forever.”

“This could be the end,” Zabka says, before he and Macchio jointly declare, “But Cobra Kai never dies.”

After starting on YouTube Red/YouTube Premium in 2018, Cobra Kai made its Netflix debut in 2020. Cast The Karate Kid alumni Macchio as Daniel LaRusso, and Zabka as Johnny Lawrence, cast also includes Peyton List (Tory), Martin Kove (John), Jacob Bertrand as (Eli), Mary Mouser (Samantha), Tanner Buchanan (Robby), Xolo Maridueña ( Miguel ), Gianni DeCenzo (Demetri), Courtney Henggeler (Amanda), Vanessa Rubio (Carmen) and Dallas Dupree Young (Kenny).

According to the Part 3 synopsis, “After a shocking result in the Sekai Taikai, Miyagi-Do and Cobra Kai must reckon with their pasts while facing an uncertain future both on and off the mat. Nearly 40 years after the events of All Valley Karate tournament in 1984, it has all led to this.”

Part 2 left off with the death of Cobra Kai fighter Kwon (Brandon H. Lee) after he fell on a knife during a fierce brawl at the Sekai Taikai tournament. Co-creator Jon Hurwitz told The Hollywood Reporter in November that the final five episodes of Season 6 will “(explore) everyone’s reaction to what happened.”

“We intentionally ended this middle block with a lot of questions to be answered in the final block, and certainly one of them is: What is going to happen to this tournament and people’s opinion of karate in general?” Hurwitz added.

He also teased that the fate of characters would be revealed.

“We look forward to resolving stories — and not every resolution is a happy ending, but it’s still a resolution,” he explained.

Although Macchio is sad to see the series end, he said during an appearance on The view in July 2024, that the end came at the right time.

“I feel like it’s time to land the plane. When you’re outmatched, it’s not always the best move,” he explained. “For me it’s not goodbye, it’s see you next time. The fans will never let it go.”

The same month, the creators of Cobra Kai revealed that they’ve already started thinking about what’s next for the Miyagi-verse, with Hayden Schlossberg telling The Hollywood Reporter that they are “absolutely” considering spinoffs.

Cobra Kai itself is sort of a spinoff of The Karate Kid. … We feel like we could do that with any of the characters on the show. We think about the fun of following them into their future, and beyond that, we think about the past,” he said.

“We have spoken with Robert Mark Kamen, the writer of the original The Karate Kid. We’ve talked about this whole Miyagi backstory with him,” he continued. “Now that we’re done (with Cobra Kai), we can actually start going into this.”
