KFC is coming to raise sugarcane with its new menu

There are few fast food menu items as delicious as piping hot, crispy tender chicken dipped in bite-sized, flavorful sauce. Fans of McDonald’s cult favorite Snack Wrap mourned the loss of the tender-wrapped tortilla so much that the fast food chain recently announced that it is bringing the Snack Wrap back to menus. And Walmart shoppers have been using the chain’s Raising Canes copycat offering on TikTok for months, making its copycat chicken finger dipping sauce so popular that it’s often sold out on Walmart shelves.

Fast food chain KFC also jumped on the tender chicken bandwagon earlier this year, releasing the Twister Wrap, a wrap-style menu item we thought rivaled the Snack Wrap. Now KFC is back with a brand new concept restaurant that celebrates what we love more than anything else: tenders and sauce.

KFC launches Saucy

Meeting Saucya KFC concept restaurant will debut in Orlando, Fla. on 23 December. The company describes Saucy as “a flavor-oriented destination” that will feature chicken tenders and 11 different sauces, which are of course a nod to KFC’s original chicken recipe and its 11 herbs and spices.

The 11 sauces at Saucy are Chimichurri Ranch, Peri Peri Ranch, Jalapeño Pesto Ranch, Smokey Bacon Ranch, Thai Sweet ‘N Spicy, Sweet ‘N Saucy BBQ, Saucy’s Sauce, Spicy Mango Chutney, Spicy Ranch, Creole Honey Mustard and Sweet Teriyaki.

At Saucy, sauces can be ordered individually or in a flight of four with minced chicken. Also on the menu will be Hawaiian rolls, coleslaw and fries that can be immediately compared to Raising Cane’s. There will also be two new chicken sandwiches, as well as chocolate mousse and Key lime cake. And similar to other chains expanding their beverage offerings, Saucy will sell 11 specialty drinks, including a watermelon refresher and peach-mango lemonade.

Saucy will have a pink interior color palette different from KFC’s red. The restaurant will have drive-thru lanes and an indoor dining room. In the dining room, customers can enjoy a live DJ on Fridays.

When will more naughty places open?

KFC says it plans to slowly roll out additional Saucy locations, but there’s no word yet on when or where. Christophe Porrier, KFC’s chief concept officer, said in a press release that chicken tenders have long been one of KFC’s most popular menu items, which is what inspired this new concept restaurant.

“We’ve had tenders for a long time, starting about two decades ago,” Porrier said. “Saucy is the modern interpretation of Finger Lickin’ Good based on one of our giants. We have such an iconic product with tenders, and if we put them on steroids with sauces, you have something magical.”

Following the news of Taco Bell’s new Live Más Café, it’s been a big week for fast food expansion, and we’re here for it.
