Another round of snow hits NYC on Christmas Eve: What to expect next

New Yorkers woke up again to more snow on the ground, this time on Christmas Eve.

Another snow-producing system moved into the Northeast overnight, creating slick travel conditions Tuesday morning. Winter Weather Advisories were issued for parts of the Tri-State area.

The latest system comes after several inches of snow fell over the weekend across parts of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, causing slick travel in what was considered one of the busiest travel periods of the year.

The snow continued throughout the early parts of the morning before ending around 10am

“It’s moving in and out pretty quickly, but it will be enough for there to be at least a layer of snow out there.” FOX 5 NEW Mike Woods had said.

With temperatures expected to remain in the 30s Christmas Eve and 20s Christmas Eve, the snow will have a very limited chance of melting.

When is the winter holiday?

Winter break for New York City Public School students begins Monday, December 23rd and runs through Wednesday, January 1st.
