FAA lifts ground stop for all American Airines flights, CNN reports

CNN reported Tuesday that The FAA lifted a ground stop which American Airlines requested for all its flights in the United States.

The airline was dealing with a “technical issue,” the network said.

It was unclear how long it would take for American Airlines to resume normal operations.

Travelers flooded social media with complaints that their flights were delayed.

“Damn way to start Christmas,” said one person at X, whose flight from Nashville, Tenn., returned to the gate and passengers disembarked.

“Our team is working to get this fixed so you can be safely on your way to your family,” American Airlines responded.

At least two American Airlines flights from Rhode Island TF Green airport showed flight status “Check with Airline”.

The disruption came during the busy holiday travel period.
