Matt LaFleur provides injury updates to Josh Jacobs, Christian Watson, Jaire Alexander, Evan Williams after win over Saints

Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur gave quick injury updates on running back Josh Jacobs, receiver Christian Watson, cornerback Jaire Alexander and safety Evan Williams coming out of Monday night’s 34-0 win over the New Orleans Saints at Lambeau Field.

The news was good for Jacobs, but worrying for Watson and Williams.

About Jacobs, who barely played in the second half: “He wanted to come back, but there was no need for it. I actually told him at halftime we’re going to give you another run in the second half but I want you out. Just being a short week, I want to get him ready for Minnesota.” Jacobs finished with 107 total yards and a touchdown on 17 touches (13 touches, four receptions).

On Watson, who left with a knee injury: “There’s definitely some concern. We’ll get some more tests done tomorrow and hopefully I’ll have an answer for you tomorrow.” Watson was injured at the end of a run in the first half. He returned to the game for a short period, but left and did not return in the second half.

On Alexander, who practiced fully all week but was inactive for a fifth straight game: “Just didn’t feel like he was quite there yet.” Alexander is trying to come back from a knee injury he suffered at the end of October. His status for next Sunday in Minnesota is TBD.

At Williams. who did not play due to a quad injury sustained in training this week: “There is concern. I think he will be out for a while. Nothing long term, just one of those deals. It is unfortunate. I think it happened in the first practice match (on Saturday). I know he is upset because this is the second time this has happened to him. But hopefully we’ll get him back in time for the playoffs.” Zayne Anderson started in place of Williams on Monday night and produced an interception. Williams previously missed time after suffering a soft tissue injury before Week 9.
