Packers RB Chris Brooks scores first career NFL touchdown

Green Bay Packers running back Chris Brooks scored his first touchdown of the 2024 season and the first touchdown of his NFL career on Monday night against the New Orleans Saints.

Brooks, playing in his 22nd regular-season NFL game, scored from 1-yard out to give the Packers a 21-0 lead over the Saints in the second quarter of the Week 16 showdown at Lambeau Field.

Brooks went undrafted out of BYU in 2023.

The touchdown came on Brooks’ 33rd touch of the 2024 season. He entered Monday night with 22 rushes for 101 yards and 10 catches for 67 yards while providing excellent pass protection out of the backfield.

The Packers signed Brooks to the 53-man roster in September. He is playing in his 13th game for Green Bay this season after appearing in nine games for the Dolphins as an undrafted rookie in 2023.

While Josh Jacobs has scored 13 rushing touchdowns this season, Brooks just became the sixth Packers player to score a rushing touchdown in 2024, joining Jacobs, Emanuel Wilson, Jayden Reed, Malik Willis and Jordan Love. The Packers now have 18 rushing touchdowns this season.
