Texans claim Diontae Johnson – NBC Sports

The Ravens won’t have to wait long to see Diontae Johnson again.

The NFL’s Daily Transaction Report shows the Texans have claimed the veteran wide receiver off waivers. The Ravens cut Johnson last Friday after a brief stint with the team that ended in acrimony when Johnson refused to participate in the team’s Week 13 game. The two teams meet each other on Wednesday.

Johnson was suspended in Week 15 as a result, and he was released after catching a pass in Baltimore following his arrival in a midseason trade with the Panthers.

The Texans were in need of a wideout after losing Tank Dell to a serious knee injury in their loss to the Chiefs over the weekend. Johnson didn’t produce much for the Panthers before his ill-fated stint with the Ravens, but Houston will hope the third stop goes better for everyone involved.
