‘Earned right to die’ Sheriff blasts commuting of family killers in St. Lucie Co.

“Where is the justice for the Escobedo family who were murdered in cold blood?”

That was the question Sheriff Keith Pearson asked after learning that outgoing President Joe Biden commuted the sentences of two men who killed a family of four on the Turnpike in St. Lucie County.

“To wake up to the news that Joe Biden commuted the death sentences of Ricardo Sanchez (Jr.) and Daniel Troya, reducing it to a life sentence, is disheartening,” St. continued. Lucie County Sheriff.

With less than a month left in his term, President Biden revealed on Monday that he was commuting the sentences of Sanchez, Troya and 35 other federal inmates who had been sentenced to death. His reprieve spared all but three people on US government death row.

Pearson argued that the Biden administration’s “woke ideology” led to its decision to issue the conversions, adding, “these two deserved their right to die for the heinous crimes they committed.”

Sanchez and Troya’s convictions came after the 2006 slayings of Jose Luis Escobedo, Luis Damian Escobedo, Luis Julian Escobedo and Yessica Guerro Escobedo on the Turnpike. The pair were accused of stopping the Jeep Cherokee and shooting the mother, father and two children and leaving them there.
