Weekend forecast – 21/12/24

The winter solstice occurs at 1:20 a.m. Saturday, officially ushering in the winter season. Temperatures will remain 10° above average with mid-60s Saturday and Sunday.

Some high clouds will pass through at times this weekend, but we will remain dry with light winds around southern Nevada. The forecast for both Saturday and Sunday is 66°.

Monday will remain mild with a forecast high of 68° under partly cloudy skies. Tuesday is a First Alert Weather Day with a chance of showers on Christmas Eve. The best chance of rain will be during the afternoon and evening.

The rain moving through will be light and scattered with gusts in the 20 to 30 mph range. Showers move east into Christmas Day Wednesday with more sunshine in the mix. It will remain breezy at times this Christmas with a forecast high of 63°.

Another system passing through the area will bring a light shower on Thursday with cooler air bringing the forecast high down to 59°.
