Where was The Dead Don’t Die recorded? Filming locations for Bill Murray and Adam Driver’s horror-comedy film explored

The classic zombie comedy film The dead don’t die was released in the United States on June 14, 2019, with Focus Features overseeing distribution. The story revolves around two police officers (Cliff and Ronnie) and their adventures in the fictional town of Centerville amid the aftermath of a zombie outbreak.

This Bill Murray-Adam Driver starrer is currently showing on Netflix, and with the holiday season around the corner, it has regained the attention of audiences. And one of the topics of discussion right now is the filming of Jim Jarmusch’s absurdist horror comedy.

Elizaville Deli (located in Elizaville, New York) is one of the locations where many key photos were taken The dead don’t die. Mostly, the exterior of the real dining room was used for these sequences. It is one of the places where the zombie outbreak begins in the film.

The diner has a long history and has been in business since 1956. Originally located in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, it later moved across state lines and underwent several renovations as well.

The Delaware Court Motel in Fleischmanns, New York is another important location where a lot of action and bloodshed takes place The dead don’t die. Many important sequences were shot inside the Delaware Court Motel – including those where the two cops (played by Murray and Driver) come across dead bodies left behind by the zombies.

This motel has been renamed The Moonlight Motel in The dead don’t die. The lodge itself is north of Fleischmann’s short main street. Viewers also see footage of the Cornerstone Bible Baptist Church Cemetary (a place where the zombies are seen buried) – which is pretty crucial to the plot building.

The diner sequences in The dead don’t die has mostly been shot inside the West Taghkanic Diner in Ancram. The original dining room is about 11 miles from the one in Elizaville.

The film opens up to portray scenes outside the dining room. We see a police car approaching this small restaurant, and later it becomes the epicenter of the zombie outbreak. The two police officers (Murray and Driver) also discover dead bodies here at the beginning of the film.


(4) Margaretville, New York

Juvenile prison seen in The dead don’t die was basically The Margaretville School. It is mainly a semi-rural area on the outskirts of New York and is located in Delaware County. This location has significantly added to the semi-urban small town essence of the story.
