Blake Lively Sues ‘It Ends with Us’ Costar Justin Baldoni for Sexual Harassment

Blake Lively is suing her It ends with us costar Justin Baldoni for sexual harassment.

Months after rumors of a disagreement behind the scenes on the set of the adaptation of the Colleen Hoover novel, the actress, 37, said in the lawsuit, obtained by TMZthat Baldoni’s alleged conduct caused her “severe emotional distress.” (Baldoni, 40, also served as It ends with us‘ director.)

According to the outlet, the lawsuit states that a meeting was held to address Lively’s demands and her demand to work on the film. It was attended by various figures, including Lively’s husband, Ryan Reynolds.

Some of the demands addressed, according to the lawsuit cited by TMZ, included “no more showing nude videos or pictures of women to Blake, no more mention of Baldoni’s alleged past ‘porn addiction,’ no more discussion of sexual conquests in front of Blake and others, no further mention of the cast and crew’s genitalia, no more inquiries about Blake’s weight, and no further mention of Blake’s dead father.”

“No more addition of sex scenes, oral sex or climax on camera by BL outside the scope of the script that BL approved when he signed on to the project,” were other demands listed in the lawsuit, according to TMZ.

According to TMZ, the lawsuit states that Sony Pictures, which distributed the film, approved Lively’s requests. However, Lively claims in the lawsuit that Baldoni then engaged in a “social manipulation” campaign to “destroy” her reputation soon after.

Bryan Freedman, Baldoni’s attorney, tells PEOPLE in a statement that Lively’s lawsuit was to “fix her negative reputation.” He also said her allegations are “false, scandalous and willfully wild with an intent to injure the public.”

Freedman added that Lively caused problems on the set of the film, which is currently streaming, “threatening not to show up to the set, threatening not to promote the film, which ultimately led to its demise during release.”

Representatives for Lively, Baldoni and Sony did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

It ends with us follows Lily, played by Lively, a woman who moves to a new town where she meets and falls in love with a man named Ryle, portrayed by Baldoni, who turns violent. Then her first love reappears and her world changes.

Reports of Baldoni’s alleged behavior surfaced earlier this year when Daily Mail published a report alleging that Baldoni was “chauvinistic” and “cross-border” on the set of It ends with us. That same day, Page Six reported that Baldoni created an “extremely difficult” atmosphere behind the scenes for the entire cast.

Rumors of a rift between Lively and Baldoni then surfaced when the cast embarked on the official press tour for the film. Baldoni did most of his press solo and did not pose for photos with the cast at the film’s New York premiere.

Fans were also quick to notice that Lively, Hoover and Jenny Slate are not following Baldoni back on Instagram.

Costar Brandon Sklenar defended the women behind the film in an Instagram post on Aug. 20, writing, “Colleen and the women in this cast stand for hope, perseverance, and for women choosing a better life for themselves. Vilify the women who putting so much of their heart and soul into making this film because they believe so strongly in its message is counterproductive and detracts from what this film is about.
