Crystal Palace vs Arsenal LIVE: Premier League team news, lineups and more today

Arsenal ‘deserved’ to beat Everton – Arteta

Crystal Palace host Arsenal in the Premier League’s late kick-off to avenge their midweek defeat to the Gunners in the Carabao Cup.

At the start of the weekend, the Eagles were 15th in the table, four points above the relegation zone. They are unbeaten in the league for five games and defeated Brighton 3-1 last time out. Under manager Oliver Glasner, Palace have started to show signs of improvement and are battling doggedly against the Gunners during the week.

Mikel Arteta’s men were inspired by Gabriel Jesus’ hat-trick in their win on Wednesday and will bring confidence into today’s game. They began the week six points behind Liverpool and can cut that to three before Arne Slott’s men take on Tottenham tomorrow.

Arsenal hope to clear at Selhurst Park

Arsenal have drawn their last two Premier League games 0-0 against Everton following a 1-1 draw against Fulham two weeks ago.

It has been three games since Arsenal scored from open play in the Premier League, with their last three goals coming from corners.

But the Gunners, inspired by Gabriel Jesus, found some form in the Carabao Cup in midweek. They travel to Selhurst Park for a second game against Crystal Palace in four days.

What’s the news from the Arsenal team?

Mikel Arteta made eight changes to his starting line-up for midweek’s clash with Crystal Palace but expects to return to a stronger line-up for this afternoon’s game, with the likes of Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard returning. Ben White (knee) and Takehiro Tomiyasu miss out with their respective knee injuries and the game looks to be too early for the returns of Oleksandr Zinchenko and Riccardo Calafiori.

What’s the news from the Crystal Palace team?

Crystal Palace have been dealt a major blow ahead of their revenge mission against Arsenal after central midfielder Eberechi Eze was ruled out.

England international Eze will sit out Saturday’s game at Selhurst Park after aggravating an existing foot injury against the Gunners during Wednesday night’s 3-2 Carabao Cup quarter-final defeat at the Emirates Stadium.

Daniel Munoz is suspended and will miss the game, with Nathaniel Clyne expected to return in his place. Joel Ward could also return from a calf problem, but Adam Wharton, Matheus Franca, Rob Holding and Chadi Riad were all set to miss out again.

Good afternoon

Crystal Palace host Arsenal at Selhurst Park in a Carabao Cup quarter-final replay, with the Gunners completing a fine comeback to win 3-2 on Wednesday night.

Gabriel Jesus scored a second-half hat-trick after Jean-Philippe Mateta’s opener to send his side into the last four of the League Cup despite a late consolation from former Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta will be hoping for a similar result this afternoon as Arsenal look to close the gap on Premier League leaders Liverpool to just three points when they face Palace in Saturday’s late kick-off.

For their part, Palace are four points clear of the relegation zone and will be hoping to continue a fine run of league games which has seen them go unbeaten in their last five matches.
