Starbucks Strike: Union plans to strike in LA, Chicago, Seattle starting Friday

The trade union represents Starbucks Corp. baristas went on strike at a limited number of locations in three US cities on Friday morning after a final-stage bargaining session reached an impasse.

Members of Starbucks Workers United plan to attend stores in Chicago, Seattle and Los Angeles. The union, which represents workers at more than 500 of Starbucks’ company-operated stores in the United States, said workers chose to strike after the coffee chain presented a package that offered no immediate raises to unionized baristas.
