Tesla is recalling nearly 700,000 vehicles due to tire pressure light problems

Tesla has it issued a recall for nearly 700,000 vehicles due to a tire pressure light problem.

The electric car company is recalling certain 2024 Cybertruck, 2017-2025 Model 3 and 2020-2025 Model Y vehicles because the tire pressure monitoring system warning light “may not stay on between driving cycles and fail to warn the driver of low tire pressure.” The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced Thursday.

NHTSA released its safety recall report Tuesday, noting that “driving with improperly inflated tires increases the risk of a crash.”

The recall affects about 694,000 vehicles.

As a remedy, Tesla said it released a free software update over-the-air.

Owner notification letters are expected to be sent on February 15, 2025.

This is not the first recall the automaker has faced. Its Cybertruck alone has received seven recalls this year, It was reported by the Associated Press.

Last month, a recall on the Cybertruck centered on “a fault in the frequency converter,” which NHTSA said “could cause a loss of power to the wheels.” This recall involved about 2,400 vehicles. In that case, Tesla said it would replace the frequency converter free of charge.

In July, Tesla issued a recall for more than 1.8 million vehicles after it received reports that the hoods of some accidentally popped open.
