We’re counting down the days until Santa walks down the chimney to leave presents under the Christmas tree.

Leading up to the big day, several organizations will be keeping an eye on Santa’s journey as he travels across the globe. Here’s a look at how to track Santa and his crew on their journey to Wisconsin for Christmas 2024:

How to track Santa this Christmas 2024:

The NORAD Tracks Santa website went live on December 1 and features Santa’s North Pole Village, which includes a holiday countdown, games and holiday music. The NORAD Tracks Santa app is also available in the Apple App and Google Play stores, and the tracker will also be available on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and X, according to NORAD.

The map that tracks Santa’s trip around the world will begin Christmas Eveor Dec. 24 from NORAD, a joint U.S.-Canada command responsible for protecting the skies above both nations. Visitors can track Santa’s flight on December 24 from 4 a.m. to midnight MST.

Trackers worldwide can also call 1-877-HI-NORAD (1-877-446-6723) on December 24 to ask live operators about Santa’s location from 6 a.m. to midnight MST.

Tracking Santa is something NORAD has done for decades. According to legend, an ad in a Colorado Springs newspaper encouraged children to call Santa Claus in 1955, but inadvertently listed the phone number of the Continental Air Defense Command, NORAD’s predecessor, also based in Colorado Springs.

NORAD isn’t the only one tracking Santa. Google’s Santa Tracker also goes live on December 24th.

The company’s Santa tracker website is up and running, offering various holiday-themed games to play. The website also has a countdown clock for when the Santa tracker goes live.

When is Santa in Wisconsin for Christmas 2024?

Santa will fly over Wisconsin and across the globe sometime between 9 p.m. and midnight, which accounts for multiple time zones, according to NORAD.

“We don’t know the exact route, but from the story, Santa doesn’t come until the kids are asleep,” said Captain Rebecca Garand.
