A Bluey movie is coming in 2027 and all parents are saying the same thing

A film of the beloved children’s animated show Bluey is reportedly in the works, and kids and adults alike are ecstatic about the news.

The Walt Disney Co. and BBC Studios announced Tuesday that a film based on the popular Australian animated series will hit theaters in 2027. The film will be written and directed by series creator Joe Brumm with a voice cast led by series regulars. , including Melanie Zanetti and David McCormack.

According to the companies, the CGI-animated film will “continue the adventures of Bluey, a lovable, inexhaustible blue heeler who lives with his mom, dad and little sister, Bingo.”

“I’ve always felt that ‘Bluey’ deserved a theatrical release,” Brumm said in a statement. “I want this to be an experiential event that the whole family can enjoy together.”

Debuting in 2018, Bluey has quickly become one of TV’s most loved shows, often winning praise for its refreshing and emotional storytelling, which has been known to bring parents to tears.

In fact, news of the incoming film has sparked a predictable reaction from adults, with many saying they will go see it even if their kids are no longer interested in Bluey.

“When does your child grow out Bluey?” the post read, with the user sharing a story about an interaction she saw while out shopping.

“While a young girl of about nine or 10 was shopping today she expressed excitement at seeing Bluey– themed clothes. Her mother asked her: ‘Aren’t you getting too mature Bluey?'”

The post continued: “I looked at the mother while reviewing winter clothing for my own child and shared that our family also enjoys Blueyemphasizes it Bluey is inclusive of all ages!

“I firmly believe that Bluey is a great program for everyone and parents should allow their children to decide when they have moved beyond a show or any other interest. It’s not just a children’s show; it’s also a parenting show, and my stance on this will not waver.”
