The snow increases from evening to Friday

Tonight: Snow is becoming more widespread. Smooth roads are expected, especially ramps, bridges and overpasses. Temperatures will drop to 27°-30°. Wind: SW 5-10 mph.

Friday: Light snow most of the day with totals of 1″ – 3″ including the snow Thursday night. Expect slippery patches on the roads if there is no salt. Highs in the low 30s. Wind: SE to N 5-10 mph.

Saturday: Partly sunny in the metro area. Snow showers are possible in the Thumb, including Port Huron. High temperatures in the mid 20s. Wind: NW 10-15 mph.

The snow is back overnight into Friday with most totals around 1″ – 3″. The heavier numbers are north of the M59. There may be some snow covering the roads on Friday morning, which could lead to slick spots. Behind this system, the weekend looks colder with highs struggling to reach the 20s with chills below zero at times.

Closer to Christmas we will see temperatures return and even climb above average with the possibility of snow and rain.
