Man injured in shooting at Taco Bell in New Bedford

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WJAR) — A man was injured after shots were fired at a Taco Bell restaurant in New Bedford early Thursday morning.

Officers responded to the fast food restaurant on Coggeshall Street shortly before 1 p.m

Police say the man suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

It is unclear what led to the shooting.

“It’s just crazy to think something like this happened around here. This area seems pretty quiet most of the time,” said one resident.

Jayden Baez, who works a late shift at a nearby sneaker store, said the shooting has left him on edge.

“Anything can happen, especially at night. Especially in this town, things get wilder,” Baez said.

No arrests have been made.

The shooting is under investigation.
