Heaven Hill Distillery worker dies in Bardstown workplace accident

The Nelson County Sheriff’s The office investigates for one Heaven Hill Distillery the worker died on the job Thursday morning, Sheriff Ramon Pineiroa confirmed.

Deputies were dispatched to the Bardstown distillery after receiving a report of an accident on the distillery’s property sometime before 1 p.m. 8, Pineiroa said. The Nelson County Coroner’s Office said Travis Jury, 41, died at the scene.

The cause of death is still under investigation, Chladek said.

The death occurred inside a rickhouse, which is a structure designed for storing and aging spirits in barrels, Pineiroa said.

“This morning we experienced a tragic incident at our Bardstown location that resulted in the death of one of our employees,” Heaven Hill Brands manufacturing manager Josh Anderson said in a statement. “We are deeply saddened by this loss and extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and colleagues affected by this tragedy.”

The company is cooperating with law enforcement as they conduct the investigation, Anderson said.

Support and advice is being offered to employees as they deal with the loss, he added.
