Passengers panic as American Airlines plane ‘floods’ in midair: ‘New fear unlocked’

Frantic flyers feared they would “drow” 30,000 feet above the ground.

Crossing the friendly skies was as wet as sailing on the high seas for passengers on an American Airlines flight from Dallas, Texas, to Minneapolis, Minnesota on Dec. 7 when water began to flood the cabin mid-air.

American Airlines did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.

However, social media is definitely talking about the watery trip.

“The in-flight movie was Titanic,” wise a content creator in the caption of a viral clip with footage of the soft mishap. Visuals of the spill scared over 7.2 million TikTok views.

Céline Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On” — which served as the theme song for the 1997 blockbuster about the luxury steamship that sank in the North Atlantic in 1912 — played in the background of the post.

The video showed shocked travelers rushing to escape the wave, which seeped down the aisle towards the front of the plane due to a leak in a rear toilet.

Hilary Stewart Blazevic, a passenger on the flight, claimed a woman had used the bathroom and alerted a flight attendant to the leak, according to Storyful. But the cabin crew member was unable to quell the cascade.

“It was complete disbelief and a bit of panic to realize they can’t shut off the water,” Blazevic said, adding that flyers picked up their belongings from the floor and lifted their feet to avoid the “disgusting” pool.

Creepy online commentators are calling the chaos their “new ‘Final Destination’ fear” – comparing the accident to the horror film series about people who narrowly escape imminent death.

“Imagine drowning…on a plane…in mid-air,” wrote one shocked onlooker.

“Drinking at 30,000 feet at 500 mph lol,” remarked one equally rattled viewer.

“New final destination fear unlocked,” added another.

But some water — which may or may not be sewage — is far from the scariest obstacle flyers have endured in recent months.

Jetsetters on a Boeing 737 flew in panic after oxygen masks were unexpectedly deployed in their faces while aboard Air Algerie flight AH 1460 flying from Algeria to Lyon, France, in August.

And trippers on Avianca Airlines flights to Colombia were left screaming, grabbed their seats and prayed for themselveswhen violent turbulence shook the plane during a departure in September.

“It was a very panicky moment,” said a passenger who recorded the harrowing chaos. “(We) thought the plane was going to crash.”
