Prince Harry recently talked about daughter Princess Lilibet’s long red hair — and it’s featured on the Sussex holiday card!

There are six pictures exhibited in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s 2024 holiday cards – but one in particular is generating plenty of buzz.

Nestled among images of the couple visiting Nigeria and Colombia this year, the top center image of the card’s six selected snaps features a rare photo of the couple’s children, son Prince Archie and daughter Princess Lilibet. Archie, 5, and Lilibet, 3, run towards Harry, 40, and Meghan, 43, who stand with open arms alongside family dogs Guy, Pula and Momma Mia.

The images on the card, released on Monday, December 16, are accompanied by the message: “On behalf of the office of Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Archewell Productions and the Archewell Foundation, we wish you a very happy holiday and a happy new year.” The picture of Archie and Lilibet is the first time the Sussex children have been shown since they briefly appeared in Harry and Meghanthe six-part docuseries the pair debuted on Netflix two years ago in December 2022.

Archie and Lilibet are shown from behind, fully capturing their red hair, which Prince Harry spoke about recently. On September 30, Prince Harry attended the WellChild Awards in London, where he told Hello! chief content officer Sophie Vokes-Dudgeon that both “Archie and Lili have been blessed with their mother’s thick hair.” Vokes-Dudgeon wrote that Harry also “marveled that it wasn’t long before Lili can sit on hers.”

This year’s WellChild Awards was not the first time Harry has spoken about Archie and Lili’s red hair, which they inherited from Harry himself. During an interview d The Late Show with Stephen Colbertthe duke of sussex spoke about his mother Princess DianaThe Spencer family tells the talk show host, “The Spencer gene is very, very strong.”

“I actually really, really thought at the beginning of my relationship (with Meghan) that if this were to go far and we have kids, there’s no way the ginger gene is going to stand up to my wife’s genes – but I was wrong !” he continued.

“Go gingers,” Harry added jokingly.

Apart from Harry, all three of Diana’s siblings – Lady Sarah McCorquodale, Lady Jane Fellowes and Earl Charles Spencer – all have red hair.

Lilibet’s red hair was first revealed on the 2021 Sussex family holiday card, released six months after Lilibet’s birth in June. It was first picture shared of Harry and Meghan’s only daughter, and the photo of the new family of four was accompanied by the message: “This year, 2021, we welcomed our daughter Lilibet into the world. Archie made us a ‘Mama’ and a ‘Papa’, and Lili made us a family.”

The 2021 picture has been taken off Alexi Lubomirskiwho also snapped Harry and Meghan’s official engagement portraits four years earlier in 2017.

Lilibet’s red hair was shown again when Harry and Meghan released an official portrait of her mark her first birthday in June 2022.

Although Harry and Meghan want to keep both Archie and Lilibet’s lives private, as loving parents the two occasionally open up about their daughter, such as when they announced her birth on June 4, 2021: “She is more than we could have ever imagined ,” the couple said when they announced her arrival.

Just weeks after Lili’s birth, Prince Harry told guests at a private garden party for the WellChild Awards that his daughter was “very chilled and seems happy to just sit there while Archie runs around like a madman.”

During an episode of her Archetypes podcast, Meghan said of her daughter that “I want my Lili to want to be educated and to be smart and to be proud of these things.” In May, during a visit to Nigeria with Harry, Meghan had Lilibet in mindand noted that “singing and dancing” was Lili’s “favorite class,” probably because of “all the jumping around.”
