Jessica Simpson’s unrecognizable image overshadows her return to the studio after 14 years

Jessica Simpson is back in the studio for the first time in more than a decade, but her unrecognizable appearance has overshadowed the exciting return.

The “Irresistible” singer, 44, took to Instagram late Monday night to post a photo from a recording studio and tell her 6.3 million followers, “I can’t wait for you guys to hear the soundtrack of my soul.”

Simpson – who last released an album in 2010 – leaned back in a chair while wearing a silky white ensemble, which she paired with an oversized blazer, black fishnets, a black necklace and high-heeled cowboy boots.

She completed the look with a half-up, half-down hairstyle and full glam.

Although many fans celebrated the pop star, who was making music for the first time in 14 years, others were more focused on her appearance.

“Girl who is this,” one fan asked in the comments, while another told her: “Wow. You don’t look like jessica.”

Others pointed out that they thought she looked like Kim Zolciak, Christina Hall, Ivanka Trump, Paris Hilton and even a Kardashian sister.

“These ladies in Hollywood all look alike,” wrote one critic. “I honestly can’t tell them apart. They’re beautiful, but they look the same.”

“I had no idea who this was,” another simply commented, while one more agreed: “Doesn’t even look like the same person anymore, nowhere near.”

Simpson – who has been sober for the past seven years – has taken social media by storm by posing in outrageous outfits following her 100kg weight loss.

She’s also had fans talking about how she no longer shares photos with her husband, Eric Johnson, and has even ditched her wedding ring.

Last month, the “Newlyweds” alum fueled split rumors by posting another shot from a music studio, with the caption: “This comeback is personal, it’s an apology to myself for putting up with everything I didn’t deserve.”

Three days later, Johnson, 45, was spotted without her wedding ring.

Despite Simpson’s sister, Ashlee Simpson, seemingly shutting down the divorce speculation, a source told Page Six exclusively that the couple no longer attend school together.

“In previous years, Jess would always attend events at school either alone or with Eric,” the insider told us. “Never Eric alone. But lately it’s just been Eric. As you can imagine, there’s been a lot of gossip among the parents.”

The apparent split has left the fashion designer “heartbroken,” with a source telling Us Weekly, “(It was) not an easy decision for her.”

Another source said Jessica and the former San Francisco 49ers tight end “are living separately right now.”

Meanwhile, a third insider noted that the couple is “trying to work out a separation without disrupting their children’s lives as much as possible.” But they are “still figuring things out.”

After splitting from Nick Lachey in 2006, Jessica moved on with Johnson and tied the knot in 2014.

They share daughters Maxwell, 12, and Birdie, 5, and son Ace, 11.
