Raiders-Falcons Monday Night Football: Offense, Special Teams drain energy from Allegiant Stadium

Las Vegas Raiders and Atlanta Falcons could have played a primetime match on Monday night football in Week 15, but it was hard to tell given the lack of energy in Allegiant Stadium. And it was far from the fans’ fault as they just matched the Raiders’ performance.

There were several empty seats as no one should feel compelled to spend their hard earned money to watch a 2-11-now 2-12 club, and a pin drop could have been heard in several places throughout the evening. That’s what happens when an offense can only muster 249 yards, 45 of which came during a two-minute drive that was capped by a game-ending interception and a pathetic special teams performance.

Las Vegas’ offense yielded just seven points after giving up a safety while allowing two blocked punts, a blocked field goal and a long kickoff return to keep the home fans in their seats.

Granted, the defense played well with one interception, three sacks and just 15 points allowed, but it’s been the same story for the Silver and Black all season as the offense kills any momentum being generated. The result is an extension of the NFL’s longest losing streak, up to 10 games now, and several frustrated posts from Raider Nation on X/Twitter.

We could all use a few of these for this game.

Howie Long looks excited to be at the game…

A terrible call that gave Atlanta a first down.

That kind of night on offense.

Stop me if you’ve heard it before, Antonio Pierce says the team is still struggling.

Mark Davis recently said he likes how the Raiders are still “competitive” …

Desmond Ridder’s thoughts on the team he also said: “It was too little, too late.”

It certainly looked like the Raiders were trying to get after Shedeur Sanders tonight.

Tankathon has the Raiders with the No. 1 pick right now, but apparently the NFL is giving it to the Giants.

If you thought the night was bad, wait until we get Mac Jones against Knight or a rushed Aidan O’Connell on Sunday.
