GD And Friends: Everything you need to know about BIGBANG’s G-Dragon’s upcoming variety show

BIGBANG’s G-Dragon, also known as Kwon Ji-yong, is ready to take over our screens. Following his latest comeback, G-Dragon is diving into a new role – not only as a musician, but also as the star of an upcoming variety show titled GD and Friends. Created in collaboration with renowned producer Kim Tae Ho, the show is already making headlines for its fresh concept and rumored star-studded guest list.

Reports suggest that some of the biggest names in the Korean entertainment industry are set to appear, including actor Kim Soo Hyun, aespa, SEVENTEEN’s sub-unit BSS (BooSeokSoon) and even his fellow BIGBANG members Taeyang and Daesung. Fans are particularly excited about Kim Soo Hyun’s rumored participation, as the actor rarely appears on variety shows, making this collaboration even more special.

Actress Kim Go Eun, who has had an incredible year with hits like Love in the Big City and Exhuma, is also speculated to join the lineup, reports Koreaboo.

According to reports, GD and Friends revolves around G-Dragon’s project titled Good Day, where he turns everyday stories into music. As a producer, G-Dragon will collaborate with a variety of artists to create songs while showing the entire creative process. In his own words, G-Dragon shared his inspiration for the project with The Qoo. “The memories of singers I admired performing together as a child and the moments of me singing and laughing at the Infinite Challenge Song Festivals are still cherished as ‘Good Days’. What if we create a space for the day we all dream about?” he added.

The show will have songs with titles like Tomorrow Is Late, United, We Are The World and Red Sunset, each carrying stories of people G-Dragon meets throughout the series. His goal is to produce a song that not only resonates with audiences, but also highlights meaningful connections through music.

Produced by Kim Tae Ho and set to premiere on MBC in 2025, GD and Friends will offer fans an intimate look into G-Dragon’s world – both as a music producer and a fun-loving entertainer with his friends. With comedians Jo Se Ho and Jung Hyung Don also in the mix, the series is already gaining a lot of attention and seems exciting.
