Netflix is now streaming Bill Murray and Adam Driver’s cult classic horror that fans absolutely love – Netflix

A classic cult horror film starring two Hollywood legends has just been added to Netflix.

It might almost be Christmas – no, I don’t know how either – and if you’re anything like me, you’re probably looking for a bit of a respite from all the festivities.

From a comfort show classic to a ’10/10′ movie being compared to Die Hard (I will not accept any recordings Die Hard is a Christmas movie, please), Netflix has plenty of options for binge-watching at the moment.

But fans of Bill Murray and Adam Driver will be happy to know that a comedy-horror movie starring the duo has finally landed on the streamer.

First released in 2019, you’ll spend a full hour and 43 minutes running around spotting celebrities, thanks to the film’s amazing line-up.

The likes of Selena Gomez, Tilda Swinton, Steve Buscemi, Chloe Sevigny and more star in the Jim Jarmusch-directed film titled The dead don’t die.

It follows the citizens of Centerville as they face a terrifying reality: the dead are rising from their graves and feasting on the living.

While the concept of a zombie film is nothing new, it’s Jarmusch’s deadpan humor – and the aforementioned sparkling line-up – that sets The dead don’t die apart from the rest.

On social media, fans have praised the film – although not everyone appreciates Jarmusch’s humorous style.

On Reddit, one person said: “I loved it. Jarmusch is an odd duck for sure, but I really liked the meta vibe of it.

“A gentle, yet surprisingly dark horror comedy. Plus the regular use of the banger theme song was consistently amusing to me.”

Another person agreed: “It’s Jim Jarmusch unleashed and I loved it, but he’s not for everyone.”

A third admitted: “The first time I saw it I was pretty unhappy with it, but on rewatching it a year later I found myself really enjoying the humor and the nihilistic deadpan approach.”

Critics on Rotten Tomatoes haven’t exactly given it a glowing rating, scoring just 54 percent across 318 reviews.

The site’s critical consensus reads: “The dead don’t die juggles tones and themes with varying degrees of success, but sharp wit and a strong cast make this a zom-com with enough brains to consume.”

David Griffiths of Subculture Entertainment rated it 3.5 out of five, describing it as ‘smart enough to be different from previous zombie horror comedies such as Zombieland and Shaun of the Dead’ with a ‘unique Jamusch stamp on it’ which he reckoned would be ‘adored by those who love his unique style of filmmaking.’

The dead don’t die is available to stream now on Netflix.
