Josh Brolin rants about using LSD at age 13

Actor Josh Brolin opened up about repeatedly using LSD at age 13, while also joking about it, on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” Thursday. (See the video below.)

The “Avengers” star told host Kimmel that he began his early experiments with some friends in Santa Barbara.

“Your brain is still developing,” he allowed. “It’s probably not the best time to start that drug, but I had a really great time.”

Brolin, son of actor James Brolin and the late Jane Cameron Ageespoke glowingly of his first trip: “I saw a fireplace talking to me, saying some nice things. I liked what he said. … It was like caressing. It was, you know, wisdom.”

Second time about the mind-altering drug, “not so good.”

Kimmel asked Brolin, dedicating a portion of his new memoir, “From under the truck,” to his drug use, if he wanted to stop his 13-year-old self from experimenting with LSD if he could go back in time.

Perhaps Brolin thought Kimmel was issuing some kind of disclaimer or warning to young teens, who the actor joked is Kimmel’s biggest demographic.

Brolin pointed to the camera and facetiously declared, “Don’t do LSD, kids.” Then he added to Kimmel, “It was the best thing I’ve ever done!”

Earlier, when Kimmel introduced the topic of Brolin’s young psychedelics, the actor led the audience in a round of applause. Kimmel asked him how that behavior could happen.

“I don’t know how that happens, man,” Brolin replied. “Where are the parents? Did they give it to me? Did they misplace a sugar cube?”

He seemed to be joking. We think.

Fast forward to 2:40 for Brolin’s trip down memory lane:
