Staff fire shots after robbery suspect crashes into Germantown jewelry store

GERMANTOWN, Tenn. (WMC) – A car crashed into a Germantown jewelry store Monday afternoon in an attempted robbery.

Police were called to the store at Bob Richards Jewelers at 1696 S Germantown Road around 1 p.m.

The police say that people in two different vehicles attacked the business.

Staff fired shots inside the business in an attempt to foil the robbery.

Germantown police have a person of interest in custody who is being treated for a gunshot wound.

Police also found one of the vehicles involved in the robbery.

Police say no injuries have been reported.
