‘Superman’ gets release date for teaser trailer and new look with David Corenswet

Fans get a new look at the upcoming “Superman” movie, as well as a release date for a teaser trailer.

“Superman” writer and director James Gunnwho is also co-chairman and co-CEO of DC Studios, shared a new look of David Corenswet as Superman in full gear on social media Monday, writing “Look up,” a fitting caption for the moving image, which shows Superman appearing to float through the air.

The music playing in the background of the moving photo is a softer, slower version of the famous theme music from the original 1978 “Superman” movie.

In a follow-up postGunn also shared that the film’s teaser trailer is coming later this week.

“#Superman #Trailer Thursday,” he wrote along with a short clip of a spinning Superman logo.

The teaser trailer is scheduled for release at 6 PT on Thursday, December 19, according to Warner Bros.

Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan take on the roles of Clark Kent/Superman and Lois Lane, respectively, in the upcoming film. Nicholas Hoult will play Superman’s archenemy, Lex Luthor.

Gunn first announced that he was taking on the project in March 2023.

“Superman” will premiere on July 11, 2025.
