Google elevates Preeti Lobana to country manager and VP of Google India

Google has announced the promotion of Preeti Lobana as Country Manager and Vice President of Google India. Sharing the news on LinkedIn, Lobana expressed his excitement about this new chapter in his career after over eight incredible years at Google.

In his post, Lobana wrote, “After my eight-plus incredible years at Google, leading customer-centric solutions, I am filled with gratitude and excitement to begin my next chapter as Country Head and Vice President of Google India. Having witnessed how the Internet has transformed businesses, and after working closely with product teams to deliver exceptional value to our customers, I am excited about this incredible opportunity.

Gupta also acknowledged the contributions of Roma Datta Chobeywho acted as the interim country manager. Chobey will continue in his role as CEO of Google India’s Digital Native Industries, focusing on sectors such as e-commerce, fintech, gaming and media. Gupta praised her expertise in driving innovation and growth for dynamic companies.

Lobana brings over 30 years of professional experience to his new role, with nearly nine years at Google. She has been a key figure in Google’s advertising business, driving solutions for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) and Google’s technical services as part of the global enterprise organization.

Prior to joining Google, Lobana held the position of Managing Director and Head of Global Finance Services, India at NatWest Group. She also worked with leading financial institutions such as American Express, Standard Chartered Bank and ANZ Grindlays Bank and gained extensive experience across various domains.
