Adam Thielen honors Randy Moss by wearing jersey after cancer disclosure

Adam Thielen plays for the Panthers now, but he arrived at Sunday’s home game wearing a throwback Vikings jersey.

Thielen, a two-time Pro Bowl wide receiver with Minnesota from 2014-22, donned a Vikings jersey No. 84 to honor Hall of Famer Randy Moss, who revealed earlier this week that he has been undergoing treatment for cancer.

NBC posted the photo on X, along with another of Thielen wearing a Moss jersey as a child.

The 47-year-old Moss, currently an ESPN studio analyst, played for the Vikings from 1998-2004 and again in 2010 in a 14-year, five-team NFL career.

Moss announced Friday on Instagram Live that he is “a cancer survivor” after undergoing surgery earlier this month to remove a mass found in his bile duct, between his pancreas and liver.

ESPN had revealed on Dec. 6 would be “stepping away from “Sunday NFL Countdown” for an extended period of time to focus on a personal health challenge.

Thielen tweeted that day that he is “praying for you @RandyMoss and your family!”

Thielen missed more than two months earlier this season with a hamstring injury, but he had totaled 17 receptions for 201 yards the past two weeks entering Sunday’s game against the Cowboys.
