Yellowstone’s Beth and Rip Spinoff: Everything We Know

After Yellowstone season 5B ends, Beth Dutton and hubby Rip Wheeler move on to greener pastures: a spinoff. Here’s everything we know, including how season 5B finale starting this potential new show.

11 December 2024: Deadline reports that Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser have just signed on to star in a new series focusing on the pair. Other main cast members are suspected to make the jump to this new show as well. Maybe Beth and Rip’s really cool new friend Travis?

So if Beth and Rip and Kayce and Trav and other important Yellowstone characters are coming to the new series and, as Deadline says, the story from Yellowstone will probably carry over to the new show as well, what’s really different? Streaming Rights! Yellowstone has a deal to stream on Peacock, while a new show could stream on Paramount+. Nor would this new show exist under the specter of Kevin Costner and the drama of his exit Yellowstone. It’s a brilliant plan that could finally save the Dutton Ranch for good. Or at least for another few seasons of plot twists. Meanwhile, the season (series?) finale of Yellowstone prime broadcast December 15.

December 15, 2024: Spoilers for Yellowstone season 5 (and maybe series?) finale below.

In possibly the last episode of Yellowstone prime, Kayce Dutton sells the ranch to the Confederated Tribes of Broken Rock on the terms that 1) the land will never be developed and 2) Kayce and his family can still live there on a small plot. That means Beth and Rip have to find a new place where they can make rope and plan and drink and whatnot.

Beth tells Rip about a small piece of land where Rip can have a small herd of horses and beef cows. It’s pretty remote, prompting Beth to joke that Rip will have to build her a bar. Yeah, this is just a cute little joke, but maybe the spinoff could really be about Beth running a little cowboy bar? Beth’s Place à la Archie Bunker’s place? Think about it, Taylor.
