Minority owner Tom Brady needs to be careful with Raider Nation

The Las Vegas Raiders season is almost over. They are 2-11 heading into their Week 15 matchup on Monday Night Football. The Raiders will have three games remaining after Monday’s contest. Then work begins on the next season.

The Raiders currently have the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and will likely finish the season ranked number one or near the top of the draft board. The Raiders will have to decide which players they want to look at and go with that pick. The Raiders will have to too determine players and coaching staff.

What has divided Raider Nation is who gets to make all these decisions. Many believe it will be the Raiders’ new minority owner Tom Brady. Raider fans seem divided about Brady being a part of the Raiders.

It dates back to the “Tuck Rule” game when Brady quarterbacked the New England Patriots, an organization Raider fans consider a nemesis.

Our Hondo Carpenter talked about how Raiders minority owner Tom Brady needs to be careful with Raider Nation on a recent episode of “Las Vegas Raiders Insider Podcast.”

“I was at the NFL owners meeting and I had somebody drop something in my ear … They were talking about Tom Brady and his need to be careful,” Carpenter said. “He said Raider fans hate the Patriots. They hate them because of the ‘Tuck Rule’. He said if I’m Tom Brady and I don’t move there to run it day to day… do you have to pick a rookie quarterback and change the head coach? Because if you get both wrong, the fans will turn on you (Brady). You might be an owner, but if the fan base hates you, you’re in for a world of hurt. Or he plays slowly.”

“They pick a quarterback. They let Antonio Pierce get one more year. Watch him develop and at least you don’t start with a locker room that’s furious that you fired the coach they love and they still fighting for him. The guy told me, Tom has been spoiled in New England. I don’t think he understands this fan base yet, I don’t know if I can see him picking a rookie- quarterback and fire a coach.”
