‘This wasn’t an attempt to get him banned’ – Magician Max Major denies lying to Kai Cenat about ‘hanging prank’ at Mafiathon 2

Magician and mentalist Max Major recently appeared at Mafiathon 2 hosted by Twitch streamer Kai Cenat. The stunt he performed did not go down well with the viewers who criticized him a lot. Despite a clarification video, netizens asked him to respect the streamer.

Therefore, he shared a long note via X (formerly Twitter) mentioning that he was not trying to get the streamer banned from the platform.

The magician recently appeared on Cenat’s channel for the third time and his appearance sparked controversy. In his trick, Major placed his head in a noose and put two handles in front of Cenat. He then asked the streamer to pull one of the handles. The trick was that one handle could lead to him choking in front of the camera.

When Kai Cenat made his choice, Major was strangled while hanging. Cenat’s entire team stopped abruptly and tried to bring Major down safely while they were all apparently in distress. This also led to Cenat being banned from Twitch.

When the whole stunt didn’t go over well with the crowd, Major clarified via his YouTube video that he tricked Cenat into choosing the wrong handle. In the video titled ” A message to Kai Cenat,” he said:

“You wanted to see me fail and I thought tonight I will give you exactly what you asked for. You thought the game was for me to influence you to make the right choice, but all along I was planning to influence you to make the wrong choice and I knew you would choose the wrong handle.”

Max Major clarifies the prank he pulled on Kai Cenat’s Twitch Livestream

Major faced a lot of criticism from netizens for going through with such a dangerous stunt. Via X (formerly Twitter), he claimed that Cenat’s team was aware of the stunt. He wrote:

“I did not lie to Kai’s team about the stunt I was going to do at Mafiathon 2 and this was not an attempt to get him banned.

“The stunt was coordinated with his team and cleared with Twitch. Before I even started preparing for this, the very first thing I did was make sure it wouldn’t jeopardize his channel or risk a ban,” Major added.

He also added that Cenat’s team was informed about the nature of the stunt. Major also wrote:

“To be crystal clear, this was not something I decided to do at the last minute – it took weeks of careful planning and training.”

“Twitch was aware of the stunt, and after running it by the higher ups, he simply asked that we put ‘professional stunt, don’t try’ on the screen.”

Major then shared screenshots of his alleged chat with Cenat’s team.

Despite the clarification, netizens shared their disappointment and wondered why he took two to three weeks to issue this statement.
